The 2010 Winter Dew Tour made a stop in Utah at Snowbasin this year for the first time. Snowbasin drew in the biggest crowds, so far, in the two year history of the winter tour. The resort is well-equipped for the crowds, with fancy lodges at both the base and the top of the Needles lift. Gondolas carry up to eight people in comfort to the top of the mountain and back. The only downside is that it's easy to get lost in the lodges' restrooms due to the foyer, maze of mirrors and individual bath"rooms"! Near the old Day lodge was the festival village with all the free bandanas, jerky sticks, all-you-can-guzzle throwback Mountain Dew and other frenzy-inducing swag. Still, we weren't quite sure what Paul Mitchell was doing there, but, hey, free shampoo too! Free shuttles were provided by Toyota. Most of the Danny Davis sightings turned out to be Toyota's "Eddie the Yeti". Oops! The weather conditions were comfortable for the event and even though it's been a dry year, the man-made snow was surprisingly smooth as buttah. The resort staff was professional and accommodating. Most likely, if you took the shuttle, you were fortunate enough to be greeted by Harold, Snowbasin's most senior employee. The homie's been there since 1952. Anyway, good times this year! Can't wait for next year! I will be there for sure. --KL (And, Danny, speedy recovery to ya!)
